Lacerta for the Lodestar™ is a new Focusing add-on device for the world’s most popular Off-Axis Guider camera.

By installing this simple astigmatic device, Lacerta will change your Lodestar auto-guiding camera into a combination auto-guider/auto-focuser. Sold separately or bundled with FocusLock software, Lacerta is a cost effective way to add automatic and continuous focusing to your imaging session.

Installation takes just minutes with minimal addition to camera back-focus. Once installed, FocusLock software can be quickly calibrated. After calibration, simply click the Start button to initiate auto-focus. The telescope remains in focus as long as auto-guiding is active. Operational simplicity at its best!

Developed in partnership with Innovations Foresight, Optec's new FocusLock software integrates patent pending SharpLock Technology to provide an easy-to-use focusing application that functions whenever guiding is active. The Lacerta for Lodestar device adds a slight astigmatism to the guide image allowing FocusLock to quickly determine on which side of focus the camera is currently positioned. Using the proprietary SharpLock technology, FocusLock can be used to quickly drive the focuser to the optimal focus position and maintain focus for weeks or months at a time.

TCF-S Focuser

The TCF-S focuser is a perfect match for FocusLock auto-focusing technology, or use any ASCOM focuser for continuous, automatic focus.

FocusLock works very well with QuickSync FTFT digital motors for the Feathertouch family of manual focusers. In fact, any ASCOM focuser can be used successfully with FocusLock.
